Welcome to the wonderful world of conceptual physics!
This course is a hands-on, project based experience that explores the foundations of the most essential science: physics. Through the coursework of this class, we will investigate a variety of topics through the lens of physical science and shed light on the fundamental laws that govern the universe. Topics in this class will range from how sensors are used and deployed in environmental systems to how the human brain processes sound waves. We will also cover the more traditional topics of mechanics and electromagnetism, but through applied case studies as well as controlled labs.
This course is called conceptual physics due to the significant of time spent developing a scientific method of thought and problem solving techniques. This course is meant to push our understanding of science and experimental design rather than just our quantitative skills. There will of course be continual development of mathematical skills, but they will not be the primary focus. The focus of this course is on applied scientific problem solving through experiences.
